Golden Plumb Logo Design Competition Results Announced!

Organized to mark the 30th anniversary of the Golden Plumb International Building Catalog Awards, the Golden Plumb Logo Design Competition was recently concluded.

Numerous submissions from various universities were carefully evaluated by the jury based on the following criteria:

  • The story behind the logo,

  • Originality,

  • Relevance to the theme,

  • Applicability of the design,

As a result of the evaluations, the jury concluded that none of the submitted entries fully met the criteria for the first prize. However, recognizing the effort and creativity demonstrated throughout the competition, the jury decided to present a Jury Encouragement Award to the following students.

  • 03658 - Jury Encouragement Award

  • 91006 - Jury Encouragement Award

In this context, as outlined above, both submissions by the two students were recognized for their unique perspectives and deemed worthy of acknowledgment. The students' efforts, the emergence of potential ideas, and their approaches to the design process were evaluated positively, leading to both being awarded a Jury Encouragement Award.

However, despite the students being appreciated for their approach and overall attitude as designers, the jury concluded that neither of the proposed logos had reached the level of a fully developed, usable design. Considering the aspects that still required improvement, no first prize was awarded.

Therefore, as stated in the competition announcement, the cash prize of 50,000 TRY for first place will instead be equally divided between the two students, identified by the application codes 03658 and 91006, as part of the Jury Encouragement Award.

Lastly, since no first prize was awarded, the existing Golden Plumb logo remains unchanged. However, the competition process offered a valuable learning experience, with constructive feedback provided to the participants and their efforts and approaches positively encouraged.
